About this course
BA in Chinese (Modern), a Chinese degree centred on the language, history and culture of modern China. Core topics include Research Methods. This four-year course includes a compulsory third-year study abroad period in mainland China or Taiwan. The first year introduces foundational study through Modern China: History and Culture alongside optional language modules. The second year explores regional politics and culture through options such as China Since 1979 and Chinese Cinema. The third year consists of the LCS Year Abroad.
