Entry requirements
A level: AAB (specific subject requirements) BTEC: D*D*D with Distinctions in all Mathematics units including Maths and Further Maths (and/or other appropriate maths units) plus an interview and diagnostic Maths test. Some units may be optional on your BTEC but are required by the Faculty. Please contact us for further information. IB: 16 points at higher level to include 6 points in Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation or 5 points in Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches.
About this course
BEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Industrial), a civil engineering degree focusing on infrastructure, building systems, and environmental protection. Core topics include Research Methods and Engineering Design. The curriculum includes an industrial placement year and holds accreditation from the Joint Board of Moderators. The first year covers foundational concepts through Architecture and Sustainability, Structural Analysis and Design, Materials, Water and Soils, and Engineering Mathematics and Modelling 1. The second year progresses with Water Engineering and Geotechnics, Engineering Mathematics and Modelling 2, Integrated Design Project 2, and Structural Design and Materials 1, alongside optional choices such as Transport Planning and Modelling 1 and Highway Engineering. The fourth year concludes the studies with advanced compulsory subjects including Water Engineering and Geotechnics 2, Structural Design and Materials 2, Wastewater Engineering, and an Individual Research Project 1.
