About this course
BEng in Civil Engineering (Industrial), a civil engineering degree centred on practical infrastructure planning and construction methodologies. Core topics include Research Methods and Engineering Design. Students undertake an individual research project in the final year and complete this four-year programme with JBM accreditation. The first year covers core foundations through Architecture and Sustainability, Structural Analysis and Design, and Engineering Mathematics and Modelling 1. The second year progresses to Water Engineering and Geotechnics, Engineering Mathematics and Modelling 2, and Structural Design and Materials 1, alongside optional choices such as Transport Planning and Modelling 1 and Sustainable Engineering Solutions. The final year focuses on advanced study through Water Engineering and Geotechnics 2, Structural Design and Materials 2, and Wastewater Engineering, with optional modules including Computational Methods for Civil Engineering and Engineering Geology.
