About this course
MEng, BEng in Civil Engineering (Industrial), a civil engineering degree focusing on the design and management of infrastructure and the built environment. Core topics include Research Methods, Engineering Design. This JBM-accredited programme incorporates sustainable development across the curriculum and provides access to laboratory facilities and computing equipment. The first year covers core foundations through Architecture and Sustainability, Structural Analysis and Design, Materials, Water and Soils, and Engineering Mathematics and Modelling 1. The second year introduces Water Engineering and Geotechnics, Highway Engineering, and Engineering Mathematics and Modelling 2, alongside optional modules such as Transport Planning and Modelling 1. The third year continues with Water Engineering and Geotechnics 2, Wastewater Engineering, and an Individual Research Project 1, with options including Computational Methods for Civil Engineering. Year 5 features further advanced study through Individual Research Project 2 and Integrated Design Project 4, alongside optional subjects such as Advanced Steel and Composite Design and Geotechnical Engineering.
