A level: ABB (specific subject requirements) BTEC: BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (QCF): distinction/distinction/distinction and must contain at least one-third science content at distinction. IB: 34 points overall, including 3 higher level subjects at minimum of grade 5, one of which must be a science subject
About this course
BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, a diagnostic radiography degree centred on medical imaging techniques, anatomy, and patient care technology. Core topics include Research Methods and Ethics & Professional Practice. Students gain clinical experience from the first semester through placements across NHS hospitals and private providers, completing a clinical portfolio annually. The first year covers the foundations through Imaging Science and Technology 1, Professional Practice for Healthcare, Professional Practice 1, and Fundamentals of Anatomy and Pattern Recognition. The second year progresses with Imaging Science and Technology 2, Abdomen and Pelvis Anatomy and Pattern Recognition, Professional Practice 2, and Research Methods and Evaluation. The final year involves advanced study through Application of Imaging Science and Technology, Pathophysiology and Diagnostic Pattern Recognition, and Professional Practice 3 alongside an independent Research Project. Optional modules allow students to explore specialised areas such as Forensic Imaging, Paediatric Radiography, and Radiographic Work-Based Learning.
