About this course

MBiol, BSc in Ecology and Conservation Biology, a marine biology degree focused on natural environments and biodiversity protection. Core topics include Statistics, Research Methods, and Fieldwork. This integrated masters route provides an additional year of specialist training and includes an extended final-year research project. The first year covers foundational topics through Living Planet, Laboratory and Field Skills, and Field Course: investigating UK habitats. The second year progresses to Mediterranean Ecology Field Course, Urban Ecology and Conservation Field Course, and Population, Community and Conservation Ecology, examining species populations and habitat management. The third year builds advanced knowledge via Advanced Topics in Ecology, Advanced Reseach Skills and Experience, and Advanced Topics in Conservation Science. The fourth year centers on an Extended Research Project alongside optional study in areas such as Conservation Decision Science, Community Ecology, and Advanced Statistics.
