About this course

BA in English, Theatre and Performance, an English and Drama degree centred on the combination of literary study and practical theatre work. Core topics include Design & Creative Practice. The programme draws on expertise from both the School of English and the School of Performance and Creative Industries. The first year establishes core foundations through compulsory modules such as Reading Between the Lines, Studio Practices, Performance Project: From Text to Performance, and Drama, Text and Performance. In the third year, students choose from a broad selection of optional modules covering diverse literary and cultural topics, such as Shakespeare, Crime Fiction Stylistics: Crossing Languages, Culture, Media, Digital Discourse: language, social media, AI, and Postcolonial London. Students may also undertake a Negotiated Project.
