A level: ABB (specific subject requirements) BTEC: DDM in art/design. Excluding Art Foundation Diploma; please see Other Qualifications section. IB: 34 points overall with 16 at Higher Level including 5 in Visual Arts and 4 in English.
About this course
BA in Graphic and Communication Design, a film studies and fashion design degree centred on visual communication and storytelling. Core topics include Research Methods. Students undertake an optional year in industry and complete two major independent projects in the final year. The first year covers core principles through Graphic and Communication Design Principles, Design Studies: Foundation, Creative Challenges and Communication, and Visual Cultures and Vivid Future, with optional choices such as Creative Thinking. The second year progresses with Graphic and Communication Design for Society, Design Studies: Exploration, Design for Interaction and Experience, and Book Arts, alongside optional modules like Strategic Marketing for the Creative Industries. The final year involves advanced study featuring the Major Research Project and Graphic and Communication Design Project, complemented by options such as Contemporary Advertising and Social Design.
