Entry requirements
A level: AAB including one arts, humanities or social science subject. Excluding general studies and critical thinking. (specific subject requirements) BTEC: DDD in a BTEC Extended Diploma in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or Media IB: 35 overall (16 at higher level, with 5 at higher level in English or 6 at standard level).
About this course
BA in Journalism, a BA (Hons) Journalism degree focused on media practice, ethics and production techniques. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a final-year Journalism Individual Project Portfolio and a Communications Dissertation. The first year covers foundational concepts through Introduction to Journalism Studies, Introduction to Journalism Skills, Introduction to Journalism Production, and Introduction to Media and Communication Research. The second year progresses to advanced topics including Journalism Ethics, Issues in Journalism, Digital Journalism, and Investigative Journalism. Optional modules in the second and third years allow students to study topics such as Digital Cultures, Media, Power and Social Justice, International Communication, and The Reporting of Politics. The final year concludes with practical application through Live News Production alongside the independent project work.
