About this course
BA in Linguistics, an English Language and Linguistics degree centred on the scientific study of language structure, use and cognitive representation. Core topics include Research Methods. The course includes a compulsory final-year dissertation project. The first year covers the foundations through Key Skills in Linguistics, Language: Structure and Sound, Language: Meaning and Use, and Languages of the World. The second year focuses on core areas with compulsory modules in Phonetics and Syntax, alongside optional topics such as Psycholinguistics, The Life Cycle of Languages, and Interactional Linguistics.
