Entry requirements
A level: A*AA (specific subject requirements) BTEC: DDD (RQF) in an Engineering-related BTEC and a grade A in A Level Mathematics. IB: 18 points at higher level to include 6 points in higher level Mathematics and either Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
About this course
MEng, BEng in Medical Engineering, a biomedical engineering degree centred on the design, production, and operation of medical devices and technology. Core topics include Engineering Design. This course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. The first year covers core fundamentals through Computers in Engineering Analysis, Design and Manufacture 1, and Thermofluids 1. The second year progresses with Engineering Mechanics, Vibration and Control, and Mechatronics and Measurement Systems. The third year involves specialized study including Individual Engineering Project, Finite element analysis of musculoskeletal joints, and Biomedical Engineering Design. The final year concludes with advanced topics such as Team project, Global Challenges in Health Research, and Medical Electronics and E-Health.
