A level: ABB (specific subject requirements) BTEC: Extended Diploma: DDD in Health and Social Care or Applied Science IB: Applicants must obtain 34 points overall (16 points at higher level), including 3 subjects at higher level at a minimum of a Grade 5, one of which must be Biology.
About this course
BSc in Midwifery (Blended Learning), a midwifery degree delivered through a blended learning model combining online media with traditional face-to-face teaching. Core topics include Research Methods. The course consists of 50% academic study and 50% clinical practice, with placements undertaken at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust and York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The first year introduces essential concepts through Midwifery Basics, Foundations of Midwifery Practice, and Optimising Care. The second year examines person-centred approaches and broader contexts via Compassionate Care, Global and Cultural Insights into Maternal Care, and Using Evidence for Practice. The final year focuses on advanced practice and professional transition through Promoting Excellence in Midwifery Practice and Preparation for Becoming a Midwife, alongside the Midwifery: Dissertation.
