A level: AAB. We also welcome BTEC applicants with DDD BTEC: DDD. IB: 35 overall with 16 at Higher Level.
About this course
BA Music is a music degree exploring varied musical styles, cultures, and practices through critical and creative study. Core topics include Research Methods. Students have access to rehearsal spaces, sound recording studios, and a concert hall, along with opportunities for solo performance lessons with professional specialists. The first year introduces foundational subjects through modules such as Music and Society, Materials of Music, Collaborative Performance, and Film Music. The second year develops contextual knowledge and practical competence via modules including Researching Music, Cultures of Performance, Music and Politics, and Composition. The final year focuses on advanced study and independent work through modules such as Independent Research Project, Music in Our World, The Professional Composer, and Music Analysis.
