About this course

BSc in Physics (International), a physics degree centred on fundamental laws of nature, theoretical principles, and experimental investigations. Core topics include Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme is accredited by the Institute of Physics and includes a study abroad year. In the final year, students complete a compulsory project linked to current research. The first year offers discovery modules alongside optional topics such as Introduction to Nanotechnology, Planets and the Search for Life, and Artificial Intelligence for scientists. The second year features experimental modules including Experimental Physics with Extended Investigation and Experimental Physics and Astrophysics. The final year centres on the compulsory Project module alongside optional studies in Advanced Quantum Physics, Quantum Matter, Advanced Optics with Photonics, Magnetism and Ferroic Materials, Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics, Advanced Mechanics, Molecular Simulation with Machine Learning: Theory and Practice, Star and Planet Formation, Cosmology, Physics in Schools, and Group Innovation Project, plus choices from other schools.
