Entry requirements
A level: AAA (specific subject requirements) BTEC: BTEC qualifications in relevant disciplines are considered in combination with A Level Physics and Mathematics. Applicants should contact the School to discuss. IB: 18 points at Higher Level to include 5 in Higher Level Physics and 5 in Higher Level Mathematics.
About this course
MPhys, BSc in Physics (International), a physics degree centred on fundamental laws of nature and modern applications. Core topics include Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students undertake a study abroad year and complete a final-year project linked to current research activity. Year 1 offers optional modules such as Introduction to Nanotechnology, Planets and the Search for Life, Artificial Intelligence for scientists, and Discovery modules. Year 2 features optional modules including Experimental Physics with Extended Investigation and Experimental Physics and Astrophysics. Year 4 includes the compulsory Project module alongside a wide range of optional modules spanning topics such as Quantum Field Theory, General Relativity, Superconductivity, Exoplanetary Systems, and Quantum Information Science and Technology.
