Entry requirements
A level: AAA (specific subject requirements) BTEC: BTEC qualifications in relevant disciplines are considered in combination with A Level Physics and Mathematics. Applicants should contact the School to discuss. IB: 18 points at Higher Level to include 5 in Higher Level Physics and 5 in Higher Level Mathematics.
About this course
MPhys, BSc in Physics, a physics degree focused on the fundamental laws of nature, experimental techniques, and theoretical applications. Core topics include Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The course is accredited by the Institute of Physics and includes a final-year project. The first year includes optional study in subjects such as Introduction to Nanotechnology, Planets and the Search for Life, and Artificial Intelligence for scientists. The second year provides optional pathways through Experimental Physics with Extended Investigation and Experimental Physics and Astrophysics. The third year features the compulsory module Advanced Techniques in Experimental Physics, alongside optional choices like Advanced Quantum Physics, Quantum Matter, and Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics. The fourth year centres on a compulsory Project, with optional modules covering Quantum Field Theory, General Relativity, and Superconductivity.
