About this course

MPhys, BSc in Physics with Artificial Intelligence (Industrial), a physics and computer science (artificial intelligence) degree spanning the intersection of physical science and modern computational methods. Core topics include Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Research Methods. The curriculum includes a dedicated industrial placement period and culminates in an integrated masters research project. The second year covers technical foundations through Foundation of AI: Machine Learning for Scientists and Physics with Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. The fourth year advances technical capability via Advancing AI: Deep Learning for Scientists and Advanced Techniques in Physics with AI, alongside optional choices such as Advanced Quantum Physics, Quantum Matter, and Advanced Optics with Photonics. The final year centres on the Integrated Masters Research Project and Advanced topics of AI, complemented by optional modules including Quantum Field Theory, General Relativity, and Exoplanetary Systems.
