Entry requirements

A level: AAA (specific subject requirements) BTEC: BTEC qualifications in relevant disciplines are considered in combination with A Level Physics and Mathematics. Applicants should contact the School to discuss. IB: 18 points at Higher Level to include 5 in Higher Level Physics and 5 in Higher Level Mathematics.

About this course

MPhys, BSc in Physics with Astrophysics, a physics and physics with astrophysics degree focused on the study of the universe. Core topics include Research Methods and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The course is accredited by the Institute of Physics and includes access to an on-campus observatory for training with optical telescopes. The second year features Astrophysics and Experimental Skills. The third year covers compulsory modules such as Advanced Techniques in Astrophysics, Cosmology, and Star and Planet Formation, while optional modules include Advanced Quantum Physics and Physics in Schools.
