Entry requirements
A level: AAB (specific subject requirements) BTEC: DDD in Product Design, Engineering or an Art and Design-related subject. IB: 17 points at higher level preferably including an Art and Design-related subject (desirable but not essential).
About this course
BSc in Product Design (Industrial), an engineering and fashion design degree centred on the creation and development of physical and digital products. Core topics include Ethics & Professional Practice. Students undertake a four-year programme that includes an industrial placement year. The first year covers foundational concepts through Engineering Materials, Contextual Studies and Ergonomics, Engineering Analysis for Product Designers, Basic Electronics for Product Design, and Design Studio 1. The second year progresses to Design Studio 2, Creativity in Professional Practice, Design for Manufacture for Product Designers, Advanced Electronics for Product Design, and Economics and Management. The final year concludes with a substantial Design Project alongside compulsory studies in Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical Systems, and Experience Design & User Interaction.
