About this course
BA in Professional Studies, a degree spanning social sciences, Scottish ethnology and studies, and business and management. Core topics include Research Methods and Global & Comparative Perspective. The course is designed for mature students and can be studied on a full-time or part-time basis. The first year covers foundational subjects through Exploring Diversity, Employability in a Changing World, Health and Society, and Introduction to Research and Ethics. The second year progresses with Global Perspectives, Creativity, Work and Change, Exploring Contemporary Issues, and Planning and Developing a Research Project. The final year centres on compulsory study including Leadership for a Changing World alongside a required Project/Dissertation. Students can also choose from optional modules such as Technology, New Media and Society and Creative Interventions in the City.
