BSc in Social and Political Sciences, a sociology and social policy and politics and international relations degree spanning human society, political systems and global institutions. Core topics include Research Methods and Social & Cultural Analysis. Students complete a final-year dissertation alongside subject-specific training. The first year establishes foundational knowledge through Comparative Politics, International Politics, Making Sense of Society: Reading Social Theory, and Formations of Coloniality and Modernity. The second year builds complexity through Sociology and Social Policy Research Methods, Theories of International Relations, Revolution and Reaction: Political Problems in the 20th Century, Justice, Community and Conflict, Key Debates in Social Policy, and Central Problems in Sociology. The final year centres on independent research via the Dissertation and Research Skills for your Dissertation.
