A level: AAB (specific subject requirements) BTEC: BSc: Applicants with BTEC Extended Diploma in the following subjects will be considered without a GCE A-level. IB: 31 overall with 6,6,5 at Higher Level, including a science or Sports, Exercise and Health Science.
About this course
BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences, a cellular molecular and sport and exercise science degree examining human movement, physical activity, and athletic performance. Core topics include Research Methods, Fieldwork. Students can complete a year in industry or study abroad programmes. The first year covers core areas through Structure and Function of Human Body Systems, Introduction to Sport and Exercise Biomechanics, and Exercise Physiology, Bioenergetics and Nutrition, alongside optional subjects such as Introduction to Sports Analytics. The second year progresses with Experimental Skills in Sports and Exercise Sciences, Physiological Responses and Behavioural Control of Human Movement, and Social Psychology and Mechanics of Sport and Exercise, with choices like Health Promotion: Applications of Theory and Practice. The final year involves advanced study and independent work through the Capstone Research Project and Research Skills and Professional Development. Optional modules in the final year span areas such as Advanced Sports Biomechanics: Performance, Injury and Rehabilitation, Advanced Exercise Physiology, and Nutrition and Health.
