Entry requirements
A level: AAA (specific subject requirements) BTEC: BTEC qualifications in relevant disciplines are considered in combination with A Level Physics and Mathematics. Applicants should contact the School to discuss. IB: 18 points at Higher Level to include 5 in Higher Level Physics and 5 in Higher Level Mathematics.
About this course
MPhys, BSc in Theoretical Physics (Industrial), a physics degree centred on mathematical and computational approaches to physical theory. Core topics include Research Methods and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme includes an industrial placement year, and a collaborative research project in the final year. The fourth year covers advanced theoretical concepts through compulsory modules such as Advanced Techniques in Theoretical Physics and Advanced Quantum Physics, alongside optional modules spanning Quantum Matter and Cosmology. The fifth year focuses on independent research, featuring a compulsory Research project and a range of optional modules including General Relativity and Quantum Field Theory.
