Entry requirements
A level: AAA (specific subject requirements) BTEC: BTEC qualifications in relevant disciplines are considered in combination with A Level Physics and Mathematics. Applicants should contact the School to discuss. IB: 18 points at Higher Level to include 5 in Higher Level Physics and 5 in Higher Level Mathematics.
About this course
MPhys, BSc in Theoretical Physics, a physics degree centred on mathematical and computational approaches to physical theory. Core topics include Research Methods, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This course is accredited by the Institute of Physics and includes a collaborative final-year research project. The third year covers advanced theoretical concepts through Advanced Techniques in Theoretical Physics and Advanced Quantum Physics, with optional modules spanning Quantum Matter and Cosmology. The fourth year focuses on independent research via a compulsory research project, alongside optional subjects such as General Relativity and Quantum Field Theory.
