Entry requirements
A level: AAB While no specific subjects are required, we prefer subjects which demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These include: Biology, Business, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, History, Languages, Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Politics, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology. In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. IB: 35 (6,6,5 HL) BTEC: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma: DDD BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: DD plus one A level at Grade A BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: D plus two A levels at Grades AB If the BTEC is not in Business, then the A level should be in a preferred subject. Preferred BTEC: Business. Other BTEC subjects may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
About this course
BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, an accounting and finance degree centred on corporate finance, financial reporting, and organizational management. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Project Management, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Marketing, Legal Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This professionally accredited course is recognized by major UK accounting bodies including ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, and ICAEW, and offers students the option to undertake a placement year. The first year establishes fundamental knowledge through compulsory modules such as Financial Accounting Fundamentals, Economics for Financial Studies, Principles of Finance, and Introduction to Law, alongside optional quantitative business skills. The second year progresses into more specialized areas via modules like Management Accounting, Digital Technologies for Accounting and Finance, Financial Reporting, and Corporate Finance, with optional choices spanning database management, marketing, and human resource management. The final year focuses on advanced professional capabilities through compulsory study in Advanced Management Accounting, Audit and Assurance, and a Work-Based Project. Students can further tailor their studies in later stages through numerous optional modules covering areas such as financial risk management, international marketing, and portfolio management.
