About this course

The BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering is an undergraduate chemical engineering degree centered on the transformation of energy and materials into useful products. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Engineering Design, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students can choose between a three-year full-time structure or a four-year option incorporating a professional placement year. The first year covers core fundamentals through Chemical Engineering Science, Engineering Principles and Design, and Process Balances. The second year progresses to specialised topics via Chemical Engineering Separations, Process Safety and Control, and Process Simulation and Design. The final year includes compulsory modules such as Individual Process Design Project and Team Process Design Project. Optional modules cover areas like Digital Organisations, AI and Society, Circular Economy, Biochemical Engineering, Project Management, and Data Analysis.
