About this course

MSci (Hons) in Computer Science, a computer science degree focusing on technical and practical aspects of modern computing systems. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Research Methods, Project Management, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Professional Practice, Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The curriculum is accredited by the British Computer Society and includes an optional professional placement year between study stages. The first year establishes core foundations through compulsory study in modules such as Introduction to Programming and Databases, Computer Systems and Low-level Programming, Operating Systems, Networks, Security, and Foundations of Artificial Intelligence. The second year continues with mandatory subjects including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Professional Training Preparation, Team Projects, and Software Engineering: Practices and Principles.
