About this course

BSc (Hons) in Computing and Management, a computer science and business and management degree bridging technical computing capabilities with organizational management principles. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Statistics, Project Management, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Professional Practice, Entrepreneurship, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The degree holds full accreditation for Chartered IT Professional status from the British Computer Society on the condition that the Computing Project optional module is taken in the final year. The first year covers foundational concepts through Quantitative Business Skills, Introduction to Programming and Databases, Operating Systems, Networks, Security, Principles of Finance, Organisational Behaviour, Fundamentals of Software Engineering, Introduction to Accounting, Management of Human Resources, and Foundations of Artificial Intelligence. The second year introduces further technical and business methodologies via Professional Training Preparation, Object-oriented Programming Team Project, Principles of Marketing, Software Engineering: Practices and Principles, Organisation Studies, Management Science Methods, International Corporate Governance and Corporate Sustainability, Information Architecture for AI and Digital Spaces, and Web Systems: Security, Architecture, Development. The final year includes compulsory studies in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Fundamentals of Strategic Management. Students can further tailor their studies through numerous optional modules covering areas such as cloud computing, human-computer interaction, mobile application development, digital forensics, and cyber risk management.
