About this course
MSci (Hons) in Computing and Management, a computer science and business and management degree centred on technical computing alongside corporate leadership and strategy. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Statistics, Research Methods, Project Management, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Ethics & Professional Practice, Entrepreneurship, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. This programme holds full accreditation for Chartered IT Professional status from the British Computer Society under the condition that students select the Computing Project optional module during the third year. The first year introduces foundational material through Quantitative Business Skills, Introduction to Programming and Databases, Operating Systems, Networks, Security, and Principles of Finance. The second year continues with Professional Training Preparation, Object-oriented Programming Team Project, Organisation Studies, and Principles of Marketing. The third year offers optional choices such as Small Business Issues and Planning, Decision and Efficiency Analysis, Cloud Computing, and Mobile Application Development. The final year focuses on advanced study with compulsory modules including Managing a Project Team, Thesis Project, Group Project, Learning Evaluation in a Specialised Subject, and Innovation and Technology.
