Entry requirements

A level: AAB While no specific subjects are required, we prefer subjects which demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These include: Biology, Business, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, History, Languages, Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Politics, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology. In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. IB: 35 (6,6,5 HL) BTEC: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma: DDD BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: DD plus one A level at Grade A BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: D plus two A levels at Grades AB If the BTEC is not in Business, then the A level should be in a preferred subject. Preferred BTEC: Business. Other BTEC subjects may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

About this course

BSc (Hons) in Economics and Management, an economics and business and management degree centred on commercial and organisational principles. Core topics include Programming, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Marketing, Policy Analysis, Critical & Analytical Thinking, Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students can choose between a four-year full-time path with a placement year and a three-year full-time study route. The first year establishes foundational knowledge through Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Microeconomics, Quantitative Economics, and Data Analysis. The second year progresses to intermediate theory and applied practice via Intermediate Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Sustainable Economic Development and Policy, and Accounting for Managers. The final year covers advanced concepts through Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Leadership & Interpersonal Skills, Research and Communication Skills for Economists, and Managerial Economics. Optional modules across the degree allow specialisation in areas such as international finance, advanced econometrics, marketing strategy, and digital technologies.
