About this course
MEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, an electrical and electronic engineering degree focused on the study of electricity, analogue and digital electronics, and electromagnetism. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Circuit Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Control Systems, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Accounting, Engineering Design, Ethics & Professional Practice, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The first three years are shared with the corresponding BEng route, while the MEng incorporates an additional fourth year containing major multidisciplinary team projects and advanced specialisation options. The first year covers core methods through Core Mathematics, Circuit Analysis, and Programming and Software Engineering. The second year progresses with Advanced Mathematics, Electronics, and Control System Design. The third year involves Engineering Systems and Management alongside an Individual Project, and offers optional modules such as Embedded Software Design and Implementation, Renewable Energy Systems, and Wireless Communications. The fourth year provides further specialisation through options including Solar Photovoltaics, Wind Power, and Industrial Machine Vision with AI.
