A level: AAA including Maths and either Computer Science, Electronics, Physics or Design and Technology (Design Engineering/Engineering Design/Product Design). IB: 37 (6,6,6) including HL Maths and either Computer Science or Physics at HL. BTEC: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma: D*D*D* in a relevant subject plus A level Maths at Grade A. Grades Distinction Distinction in BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering plus Grades AA from two A levels. About this course
MEng (Hons) in Energy Engineering, a mechanical engineering and electrical and electronic engineering and chemical engineering degree spanning power generation, sustainable technologies, and smart energy infrastructure. Core topics include Programming, Systems Design, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Control Systems, Data Analysis, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Project Management, Engineering Design, Ethics & Professional Practice, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Students can opt for a 5-year full-time route including a placement year. The first year covers foundational concepts through Core Mathematics, Programming and Software Engineering, Applied Engineering, Engineering Science, Energy, Technology and Society, and Principles of Electrical and Electronic Systems. The second year progresses into Advanced Mathematics, Energy Demand & Engineering Science, Control System Design, Project Design and Management, Wind and Solar Power, and Energy Storage and Efficiency for Buildings. The third year incorporates Engineering Systems and Management, Individual Project, and Power Systems and Renewable Energy Integration. Optional modules across later stages allow students to focus on areas such as State Control Systems, Sustainable Engineering, Power Electronics, Machine Learning and AI for Engineering, Bioenergy, Statistical Methods and Machine Learning, Advanced Digital and IoT Communication Technologies, Engineering Research Challenge Team Project, Industry Based Engineering Team Project, Consultancy and Professional Practice, Advanced Energy System Technologies, and Data Analysis for Smart Energy Systems.
