BA (Hons) in Fashion Design and Technology, a Textile Design - BA (Hons) and Fashion Design degree centred on contemporary apparel, manufacturing processes, and technological innovation within the fashion industry. Core topics include Research Methods, Ethics & Professional Practice, and Design & Creative Practice. Students can complete this course either through a four-year route including a professional placement year or via a standard three-year full-time study option. The first year introduces foundational skills through compulsory modules such as Creative Production 1, Fashion Design Principles, Garment Construction, Creative Production 2, 3D Manipulation, and Fashion Futures, focusing on digital competencies, technical garment creation, and human body form. The second year expands into advanced concepts with compulsory modules including Advanced Digital Design Processes, Sustainable Design Systems, Professional and Business Practice, Contextualising Fashion, and Apparel Innovations: Components and Materials, alongside optional modules such as Arts Management, Re-imagining Communities, Creative Placemaking, Drawing Characters: Representation and Identity, Fashion to Function: Designing Clothing and Wearable Products, Co-Designing Products with Generative AI, Creative Enterprise, BioDesign, Object Studies, and Shaping a World That Functions: Human Factors and Ergonomics in Action.
