Entry requirements

A level: AAB While no specific subjects are required, we prefer subjects which demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These include: Biology, Business, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, History, Languages, Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Politics, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology. In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. IB: 35 (6,6,5 HL) BTEC: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma: DDD BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: DD plus one A level at Grade A BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: D plus two A levels at Grades AB If the BTEC is not in Business, then the A level should be in a preferred subject. Preferred BTEC: Business. Other BTEC subjects may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

About this course

BSc (Hons) in Finance, an accounting and finance degree centred on corporate finance, financial markets, and investment theory. Core topics include Financial Analysis, Accounting, Statistics, Data Analysis, Marketing, and Legal Analysis. The curriculum shares its first-year modules with the Accounting and Finance programme and features professional accreditation from CIMA and ICAEW providing exam exemptions. The first year covers core subjects through Financial Accounting Fundamentals, Economics for Financial Studies, and Quantitative Business Skills A, building foundational knowledge in business and quantitative methods. The second year introduces Digital Technologies for Accounting and Finance, Financial Markets and Derivatives Fundamentals, and Corporate Finance, alongside optional choices such as Database Management, Marketing, and Human Resource Management. The final year focuses on advanced topics through Financial Risk Management, Multinational Financial Management, and Portfolio Management, with optional modules spanning Audit and Assurance, Behavioural Finance, and Project Management.
