About this course

BSc (Hons) in Geography and Sport Science, a sport and exercise science and geography degree exploring physical and social processes alongside human movement and performance. Core topics include Laboratory Techniques, Research Methods, Fieldwork, and Policy Analysis. Students split their time evenly between both academic areas across all years of study, with an optional placement year available. The first year introduces foundational themes through compulsory modules such as Academic and Professional Skills for Geography, Earth Systems, Sport and the Social Sciences, Fundamentals of Sport and Exercise Science, Practising Geography, and Fundamentals of Teaching Physical Education. In subsequent years, students can choose between specialisms in human or physical geography while continuing their studies in sport science. Optional modules allow learners to explore topics like Remote Sensing & GIS, Globalization, Fitness Training and Analysis, and Applied Sports Science: Analysis and Conditioning, alongside independent research through a Geography Dissertation.
