About this course

BSc (Hons) in Geography with Economics, an economics and geography degree exploring the social and physical mechanisms shaping changing environments. Core topics include Data Analysis, Laboratory Techniques, Research Methods, and Fieldwork. The programme is delivered in collaboration with Loughborough Business School, where economics instruction accounts for one-third of study time across the duration. The first year introduces fundamental concepts through compulsory modules such as Introduction to Macroeconomics, Introduction to Microeconomics, Academic and Professional Skills for Geography, Unequal Worlds, Earth Systems, Spatial Data Analysis, and Practising Geography. In the second year, students build competency via compulsory modules including Economics of the Financial System and History of Economic Thought, while choosing among options spanning Remote Sensing & GIS, Globalization, Social Difference, Earth Surface Processes and Landforms, Environmental Systems and Resource Management, Physical Geography Research: Design and Practice, Human Geography Research: Design and Practice, Global Migration, Understanding our Environmental Footprint, Physical Geography Fieldcourse, Urban Geographies, Cultural Spaces and Digital Landscapes, River Science, and Human Geography Fieldcourse.
