Entry requirements
A level: AAB While no specific subjects are required, we prefer subjects which demonstrate a range of numerical, analytical and discursive abilities. These include: Biology, Business, Classical Civilisation, Chemistry, Economics, English Language/Literature, Geography, History, Languages, Law, Maths/Further Maths, Philosophy, Physics, Politics, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology. In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. IB: 35 (6,6,5 HL) BTEC: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma: DDD BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: DD plus one A level at Grade A BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: D plus two A levels at Grades AB If the BTEC is not in Business, then the A level should be in a preferred subject. Preferred BTEC: Business. Other BTEC subjects may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
About this course
BSc (Hons) in International Business, a Business and Management degree centred on global perspectives, operational strategies, and cross-border commercial dynamics. Core topics include Data Analysis, Statistics, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. Students can complete a four-year route including a placement year or a standard three-year study option. The first year covers core business disciplines through compulsory modules such as Responsible Management Practice, Business in the Digital Age, Management and International Business Fundamentals, Principles of Marketing, Introduction to Accounting, Ethics and Professional Skills, International Business and Culture in Different Contexts, Quantitative Business Skills A, and Quantitative Business Skills B, alongside optional choices like Organisational Behaviour. The second year examines advanced commercial environments through options such as Database Management, AI in Business, Financial Markets and Derivatives Fundamentals, and Human Resource Management. The final year focuses on strategic application with compulsory modules including Small Business Issues and Planning, Global Strategy Management, International Negotiations, and Work-Based Project, while optional modules allow specialisation in areas such as Financial Risk Management, International Human Resource Management, and International Marketing.
