Entry requirements

A level: AAA/A*AB including A in Maths or AAB including AB in Maths and Further Maths. We recognise the benefit of STEP/MAT/TMUA in demonstrating your aptitude to study Mathematics at a higher level but do not include it as part of any conditions of offer. IB: 37 (6,6,6 HL) including HL Maths BTEC: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma: D*DD plus A level Maths at Grade A. BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: D*D plus A level Maths at Grade A. BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: D* plus two A levels at Grades AA including Maths.

About this course

BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Accounting and Finance, a mathematical sciences degree split evenly between mathematics modules and accounting and business subjects. Core topics include Programming, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, Financial Analysis, Accounting, Legal Analysis, Entrepreneurship, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The programme draws on expertise from both the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Loughborough Business School. The first year covers core foundations through compulsory modules such as Financial Accounting Fundamentals, Calculus I, and Introductory Probability and Statistics. The second year progresses with modules including Management Accounting, Analysis I, and Financial Markets and Derivatives Fundamentals. In the third year, compulsory study features Advanced Management Accounting, Financial Reporting: Theory and Practice, and Audit and Assurance. Students can also select from an extensive range of optional modules such as Applied Statistics, Operational Research, Stochastic Methods in Finance, Digital Organisations, AI and Society, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
