About this course

BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Sport Science, a joint honours degree spanning Sport and Exercise Science and Mathematics. Core topics include Programming, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. The curriculum is divided equally between mathematics and sport science, and students can tailor their studies by choosing from a range of optional mathematics modules. The first year covers the foundations through Analysis I, Calculus I, Anatomy and Physiology, and Introduction to Sport Biomechanics and Kinesiology, establishing fundamental concepts in both disciplines. The second year progresses with Physiology of Exercise and Training, Biomechanics of Sport, Calculus II, and Applied Statistics, while introducing optional modules such as Algebra, Motor Control and Motor Learning, and Graph Theory. In subsequent years, students tackle advanced topics including Advanced Sport Biomechanics alongside a diverse selection of optional modules like Statistical Machine Learning, Dynamical Systems, and Game Theory.
