A level: AAB IB: 35 (6,6,5 HL) BTEC: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: D plus two A levels at Grades AB BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: D*D plus one A level at Grade B The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma will not be acceptable as a stand-alone qualification but will be accepted at DDD overall in conjunction with one A level at Grade B Preferred BTEC: Applied Science, Health and Social Care, Sport, Business
About this course
BSc (Hons) in Psychology, a cellular molecular and psychology degree grounded in the fundamentals of psychological science and its practical application to real-world issues. Core topics include Research Methods and Human Behaviour. This degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society and offers a choice between a three-year full-time study route or a four-year option that includes a placement year or study abroad opportunity. The first year introduces fundamental academic skills and core concepts through compulsory modules such as Learning to be a Psychologist, Research Skills A, Psychology of the Early Years, Cognitive Research, and Understanding the Brain, alongside optional choices like Self and Identity. The second year advances these principles with compulsory studies in Understanding Human Diversity, Psychology Across the Lifespan, Research Skills B, and Applied Cognitive Research, while providing various optional modules including Social Psychology and Communication. The final year centres on an independent enquiry-based investigation through the compulsory Project (Psychology Programmes) module. Students can also select from numerous advanced optional modules spanning topics such as Forensic Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Addictive Behaviours.
