About this course

BSc (Hons) in Psychology of Sport and Exercise, a cellular molecular and psychology degree focused on the mental processes and physical applications behind athletic performance and exercise participation. Core topics include Research Methods and Human Behaviour. This four-year route includes an integrated placement year option, alongside a three-year full-time study path. The first year covers foundational concepts through compulsory modules such as Research Skills A, Psychology of the Early Years, Foundations of Sport and Exercise Psychology, and Understanding the Brain. The second year advances these principles with modules including Understanding Human Diversity, Psychology Across the Lifespan, Expert Performance in Sport, and Research Skills B. The final year involves core independent study through the Project (Psychology Programmes) module alongside advanced topics like Applied Exercise Psychology and Applied Psychology in Competitive Sport.
