Entry requirements
A level: AAB No specific subject requirements. In some circumstances we may ask applicants to achieve specific grades in certain subjects. IB: 35 (6,6,5 HL) BTEC: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: D plus two A levels at Grades AB BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: D*D plus one A level at Grade B The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma will not be acceptable as a stand-alone qualification but will be accepted at DDD overall in conjunction with one A level at Grade B BTEC in Sport or Sport Science related subjects will not be accepted alongside A level Physical Education Preferred BTEC: Sport, Business
About this course
BSc (Hons) in Sport Management, a sport and exercise science degree centred on business, finance, and management in the sporting sector. Core topics include Research Methods, Accounting, Marketing, Legal Analysis, Policy Analysis, and Critical & Analytical Thinking. Students can choose a four-year full-time path with a placement year or a three-year full-time route, with teaching shared between the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences and Loughborough Business School. The first year introduces the field through Academic, Research and Vocational Skills, Introduction to Sport Management, Principles of Marketing for Sport and Leisure, and Financial Accounting for Sport. The second year builds professional competencies via Research Skills and Methodologies, Sports Law and Social Justice, Sport Management in Practice, and Human Resource Management in Sports Organisations. The final year focuses on advanced practice through a compulsory Final Year Project, Sport Policy and Governance, Strategic Sport Marketing and Economics, and Strategic Management of Sports Organisations and Events. Optional modules across the degree allow students to study coaching, physical activity, leadership, and environmental topics.
