About this course

MBiochem in Biochemistry (Molecular and Cellular), a biochemistry degree focused on biological processes at the molecular level. Core topics include Research Methods. The fourth year centres on an in-depth research project embedded within an active research group, alongside the production of a review article. The first year covers foundational principles through compulsory modules such as Cellular biochemistry, Molecular biochemistry, Mechanistic biochemistry, Physical biochemistry, and Quantitative biochemistry. The final year is dedicated to advanced training and practical investigation through modules including an in-depth research project and a review article on current research in an area of biochemistry.

Modules

  • Cellular biochemistry
  • Molecular biochemistry
  • Mechanistic biochemistry
  • Physical biochemistry
  • Quantitative biochemistry
  • This provides the opportunity to be embedded in a research group and carry out an in-depth research project. This is supported by an advanced skills training programme
  • Review article on current research in an area of biochemistry of your choice
