MEng Engineering Science
Entry requirements
A level: A*A*A to include Mathematics and Physics. The A*s must be in Mathematics, Physics or Further Mathematics For candidates who are predicted A*AA, serious consideration will be given to extenuating circumstances, such as disruption to education or bereavement, which have led to under-performance in exams and which are described in their application. Any offer would be conditional on achieving A*A*A. IB: 40 (including core points) with 776 at HL (with 7s in HL Mathematics and Physics)
About this course
MEng in Engineering Science, an engineering degree exploring the application of mathematical and scientific principles to practical problems across multiple branches. The four-year programme is structured around a unified foundational curriculum before leading to advanced study and specialisation. Students undertake a group design project in the third year and can choose to focus on one of eight engineering branches in later stages. The first year covers core fundamental concepts through Mathematics, Electrical and information engineering, Structures and mechanics, Energy, and Engineering practical work. The second year builds upon this base with modules such as Structures, materials and dynamics and Energy systems. Third-year studies introduce Engineering in society and Engineering computation alongside a group design project and five optional Engineering courses. The final year offers advanced study across Biomedical engineering, Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Electrical engineering, Engineering mathematics, Information engineering, Mechanical engineering, and Production engineering.
