About this course
MMath or BA in Mathematics / Mathematics and Statistics, a mathematics and mathematics and statistics degree focused on analytical reasoning and advanced quantitative methods. Core topics include Programming, Statistics, and Mathematical Modelling. Admission to Mathematics is joint with Mathematics and Statistics, with students selecting between the three-year BA or four-year MMath tracks later in the studies. The first year covers foundational principles through Algebra, Analysis, Probability and Statistics, Geometry, Dynamics, and Multivariable calculus. The second year introduces Complex analysis, Metric spaces, and Differential equations alongside choices from options currently including Algebra, Number theory, Integration, Geometry, Topology, Fluid dynamics, Probability, Statistics, Numerical analysis, Graph theory, Quantum theory, and Simulation and Statistical Programming. The Probability and Statistics courses are compulsory for the statistics route instead of optional.
