Entry requirements

GCSE: English and Maths grade C / 4 or above or equivalent. A level: 112 points to include grade C in A level mathematics and grade E from a second relevant subject. Relevant subjects include applied science, applied business, biology, business, chemistry, computing, computer science, design technology, economics, electronics, engineering, environmental sciences, ICT, physics, statistics, further maths, use of maths, pure maths. BTEC: DMM in Engineering subject to include Merit in one Maths module. All Access courses: Pass Access to HE Diploma with 33 Level 3 credits at Merit or Distinction, including 12 Level 3 credits at Distinction in Mathematics and 12 Level 3 credits at Merit in a second relevant subject. International Baccalaureate: 28 points overall to include 5 in Higher Level Maths and 3 in a second relevant Higher Level subject. Other: Irish Leaving Certificate: 112 UCAS points, to include H4 in Mathematics and H5 in a second relevant Higher Level subject. Maths and English accepted within as GCSE equivalent. Scottish Qualifications Authority: 112 UCAS points, including grade C in Advanced Higher Mathematics and grade E in a second relevant Advanced Higher subject. Maths and English accepted within as GCSE equivalent.

About this course

BEng (Hons) in Engineering integrating civil, mechanical, electrical, electronic, robotics, computing and mathematical disciplines. Core topics include Programming, Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Control Systems, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. An optional year-long industry placement can be taken between the second and final years. The programme concludes with an independent integrated engineering project.
