Entry requirements

A level: 104 points from a minimum of 2 A levels. Excluding general studies. 18 Unit BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM in any subject. All Access courses: Pass a named Access to HE Diploma in any subject with at least 33 credits at merit/distinction. T level: Merit in any subject. International Baccalaureate: 26 overall. English and Maths accepted within: Higher Level = 4 Standard Level = 5. Other: 14-19 Diploma a ccepted – please enquire. Other combinations and non-A level qualifications also considered.

About this course

BSc (Hons) in Sociology, combining criminological theory with forensic investigation and crime control. Core topics include Research Methods, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Ethics & Professional Practice. Students may undertake an optional placement year of up to 48 weeks and complete an independent dissertation in the final year. The programme features live-action and virtual reality crime scene exercises, cold case investigation work through the Plymouth Cold Case Unit, and suspect interview practice.
