Entry requirements

Scottish Higher: Standard: BBBB, Minimum: BBCC A Level: BCC Irish Leaving Certificate: H2 H2 H3 H3 International Baccalaureate: 28 points International: IELTS of 6.0 with no element lower than 5.5. Required subjects: At least one discursive subject (eg English, History, Geography, Drama) and one arts subject (eg Art, Music, Photography, Design) are required at Higher/A Level/. English is required and Maths is preferred at National 5/GCSE level or equivalent at grade C/4 or above. Direct Entry: Not typically available Other requirements If successful in the initial academic screening, you will be asked to submit an e-portfolio containing images including any completed garments that you may have constructed photographed on a model. Candidates, when asked for their portfolio, will also be asked to complete a short design exercise. The details of which will be emailed to applicants at this stage of the process.

About this course

BA (Hons) in Costume Design and Construction, centred on performance and design for theatre and screen. Core topics include Research Methods, Project Management, and Ethics & Professional Practice. Professional practice modules involve working in teams to deliver costumes for live productions alongside external organisations. A work-based learning module provides industry placement experience, and the course culminates in a final-year honours research project.
