Entry requirements
Scottish Higher: Standard - BBBB, Minimum - BBCC A Level: BCC Irish Leaving Certificate: H2, H2, H3, H3 Required subjects: To include Human Biology or Biology and a discursive subject, such as English, History, RMPS, Modern Studies, Philosophy at Higher/ A Level. English and Maths at grade C/4 or above are required plus a second science is preferred at Nat 5/GCSE level at Grade C/4 or above if not studied at Higher level. We can also accept National 5 Application of Maths or Lifeskills at the same grade. If English is not your first language and you would be required to provide evidence of an English language test, an IELTS of 7.0 with no component lower than 6.5 would be required. This is in line with HCPC registration requirements. This course is not open to international applicants. Applicants will be required to take part in an interview. If you do not respond to your invitation to interview your application will not be progressed any further. A satisfactory criminal records check from the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, an occupational health check and personal indemnity insurance (normally through membership of the professional body) are required. About this course
BSc in Paramedic Science, focusing on clinical skills and professional practice in out-of-hospital care. Core topics include Clinical Skills, Communication & Writing, Critical & Analytical Thinking, and Ethics & Professional Practice. Clinical placements are integrated into each year of the programme, including settings such as the Scottish Ambulance Service. The programme holds endorsement from the Royal College of Paramedics, and graduates may apply for HCPC registration as a paramedic upon completion.
