Entry requirements
A level: BBB, including History or a humanities-based essay subject. Humanities-based essay subjects include: Classical Civilisation, English Language, English Literature, Geography, Philosophy, Politics, Religious Studies. IB: 30 points overall including 5 in History or a humanities-based essay subject at higher level.
About this course
BA in History and Philosophy, covering a thousand years of history alongside philosophical inquiry. Core topics include research methods, historical research, critical and analytical thinking, social and cultural analysis, and global and comparative perspectives. The first year includes an individual research project, and work placements in museums, heritage organisations, archives, and schools are incorporated into the degree. Students can study abroad for a semester in the second year.
